Meet Heather Dickie, Your VIQ Implementations Expert

To celebrate our global workforce and give you a glimpse at the people behind our exemplary customer experience and world-class support, VIQ would like to introduce Heather Dickie, Director, Client Experience – Implementations. 

What is your background and how did you get interested in Client Experience?   

Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to wear many hats from office manager, team leader, operations manager, vice president, implementation manager, and now Director of Client Experience, North America. Throughout the years, I have been focused on creating exceptional client experience in every role.  

I’ve always been passionate about helping people and providing great customer service. My career journey has allowed me to understand the importance of client experience. Learning about the value of creating a consistent, positive experience for clients has been a key part of my career development. 

What are your roles/responsibilities at VIQ? 

Onboarding new clients to the VIQ platform and teaching them how to make use of VIQ’s SaaS solutions and technologies is currently my primary focus. Through consultations with customers, I learn about their workflows and how we can improve them. My goal is to help them make the most of VIQ’s offerings.    

Overall, my role at VIQ is to ensure that our clients have a great experience and that they are getting the most out of our SaaS solutions. By understanding their needs and helping them to make the most of our platform. 

What do you enjoy most about working at VIQ Solutions?  

The team at VIQ is the best part of my job. The collaborative spirit and drive for excellence that we share is what I enjoy most. Our team works together to solve complex problems and create innovative solutions. We are all passionate about our work, and that makes it enjoyable and rewarding. I’m proud to be a part of this inspiring team. 

What are you most proud of/most interesting project? 

My most interesting project was being part of a new VIQ solution for courts.  We are now able to help them leverage our technology to address personnel shortages and legal backlogs. The project allowed me to be part of a team that is revolutionising the legal industry. We leveraged technology to create a solution that is designed to make the courtroom experience more efficient and accurate. 

What are your interests and/or hobbies outside of work? 

I’m passionate about horses and I love to ride and compete in show ring jumping. When I’m not at work, you can find me saddling up and enjoying the thrill of jumping. It’s something that I take great joy in and am so proud to be a part of. I’m always looking for ways to improve my riding and am excited to continue learning and growing as a rider. 

What does providing great Customer Experience mean to you? Why is it important? 

Providing a good customer experience is essential.  It’s not just about getting customers through the door or making a sale; it’s about creating an experience that’s memorable, enjoyable, and rewarding. A good customer experience is about meeting customers’ needs and providing them with a satisfying interaction. It’s about creating a relationship of trust and respect and delivering on the promises you’ve made.

What are your goals and aspirations for the future, both in your personal and professional life? 

Continue to find joy in life and to enjoy every moment. Professionally, I want to be able to use my skills and knowledge to make a meaningful impact and to make a difference in the world. I also aspire to build meaningful relationships with colleagues, mentors, and friends along the way. I have the ambition to go beyond my current knowledge and experience, and to continue to grow and challenge myself. Ultimately, I want to be able to look back at my life and see that I have made a positive difference and that I have achieved my goals and aspirations.
